2015 Toyota 4Runner SR5
Eric’s 2015 4runner
Eric started his 4Runner build at the end of 2016; although he bought it used it is still his first new vehicle being a 2015 model. With that said, he first fell in love with the 4Runner as a child when his aunt had a 2nd generation model and then upgraded to the 3rd generation.
In college, it wasn’t till his last year that he met Austin who opened his eyes to the world of overlanding. With a love of the 4Runner and the goal of traveling around the country and maybe even further one day with his best mate, a goal was made. After graduating college and working for almost six months enough circumstances led to the purchase of his 4Runner a.k.a. Roxanne.
Roxanne is a 2015 SR5 4Runner and comes stock with part time 4×4, Downhill Ascent Control and Toyota’s ATRAC technology. In preparation for the trip some essential upgrades have taken place in the spring of 17′. First was a set of Metaltech bolt on OPOR Sliders as well as Shrockworks Rear Lower Control Arm Skids, and an ARB Differential Breather. The most recent upgrades and probably the most important for the trip included a Bilstein 6112 lift, Black Rhino Overland wheels, and a set of BFG KO2 285/70/17’s. All of this will help tackle whatever the TAT has to offer!
In the future if other items are sponsored or spare money turns up, his vision for Roxanne includes a Gobi full length roof rack with light bar and ladder, a low profile front bumper with a Warn winch, and a set of Traction Boards. That’s the build so far for our 4Runner presence in BraveHeart Overland.
